Grassroots consumption, storage, and dosage

Consumption methods

To add to the versatility of concentrates, there are also a number of ways to consume them. While vaporization is the most popular, it’s certainly not the only way to get a great experience.

Dab Rigs

There are two main kind of dab rigs: glass and electronic. Dab rigs are a water pipe featuring a “nail” or “banger,” which is heated to vaporize the concentrate. Vapor then flows down into the rig and through the water, cooling and filtering it before inhalation.

Portable Dab Pens

Portable dab pens have the benefits of traditional dabbing, with the convenience of portability. The concentrate goes into a chamber on your portable dab pen/vaporizer, after which it’s heated and vaporized for consumption. These pens are a great option for those on-the-go, beginners, and people looking for a more cost effective consumption method without the need for different hardware pieces.

Add it to your Flower

Many concentrates can be added right to your favorite flower, such as Crumble, Bubble Hash, Wax or Diamonds. This can be a great option if you don’t have the eqipment to dab, or just want an added kick of potency. Try adding throughout a joint, topping your bowl, or packing on your bong.

Dab Temp Guide

Taking dabs that are too hot can burn away cannabinoids and can also cook away those tasty terps. Preserving the terpenes without burning them away when dabbing will allow you to have the best possible experience so you can experience the flavor, aroma, and effects of the specific cultivar. We recommend experimenting with various temperatures to find your sweet spot for your preference of flavor and effect.

Check out our chart for a few of the boiling points for some of the more common terpenes. If you can get close to these temperatures, you can retain the terps!

Grassroots storage instructions

Storage

Proper storage is key to preserving both the fidelity of the concentrate and your consumption experience. Make sure to store your concentrates in a cool, dark, airtight place that avoids heat, light, and moisture as best as possible, as environmental components
can cause the active compounds in the product to break down over time. It’s also important to keep the container upright and flat to avoid any leakage or spillage of your concentrate.

Dosage

When it comes to dosing concentrates, “slow and low” is the name of the game. Remember, they’re called concentrates for a reason. Start small by microdosing a tiny amount of concentrates (about the size of a pen tip) and work your way up to a larger dose. Effects are almost instantaneous, can be heavy-hitting, and felt for a couple of hours depending on your tolerance. And remember, you can always ask a budtender for guidance at your local dispensary.
